Festive holidates with friends
Announcement
Announcement

Due to the current health precautions, some attractions, facilities, restaurants and services may have special arrangements and operating hours in place. Before you visit, please check their respective websites. Find the latest updates, including health tips, on the Hong Kong Government's website.

Spend the holidays with your chosen family this year. When it’s safe to get out and about, explore fun and festive ways to celebrate, feast with friends, create your own traditions of gift exchange or Secret Santa, and discover new experiences together. After all, what's the 2020 festive season without a little — socially distanced — warmth and inclusion. Grab your best girls and guys and head to Central for a lively atmosphere and fun activities before enjoying a memorable meal together, or opt to go Kowloon side to get crafty, followed by a cosy dinner under the stars filled with celebratory cheers.

A high-spirited date with mates

A fun, festive-filled day with friends while learning, shopping, and eating together in Central.

NINETYs

The day always starts with coffee, and whether you're a hard espresso or milky latte fan, learn how to prepare one yourself at the coffee workshops in Soho’s Australian-style cafe NINETYs. Book online to secure a spot with friends (minimum two people; request your preferred date and time) and choose to take in the flavours and aromas of brews at a professional coffee tasting class, learn to make pour-overs and espressos, or enjoy creating snow-sprinkled latte art together. Get your holidate started the right way and drink a good cup of coffee to keep you going for the rest of your festive day with friends. For more festive moments with friends, NINETYs are also hosting evening Christmas wreath workshops followed by a Christmas meal on 19 and 23 Dec.

Tai Kwun

After your workshop, stop by Tai Kwun — the former Central Police Station, now a centre for heritage and arts — which is a mere one-minute walk away. Check out contemporary art exhibitions such as the recent works of conceptual artist Francis Alÿs or immersive video installations by Mika Rottenberg showing at JC Contemporary (open Tue–Sun 11am–7pm), which are both free of charge. Or simply enjoy strolling through the heritage building and its shops before resting, if the weather permits, outside on the seats in the courtyard.

Check-In Taipei

From Tai Kwun, walk one minute back out to Hollywood Road and take a trip with your friends to Taiwan, no flights required. Check in to popular eatery Check-In Taipei for lunch or an afternoon snack and sample delicious Taiwanese fare with a little contemporary twist — from steaming rice bowls topped with crispy chicken or Taiwanese egg omelette, to signature bowls of beef noodles and more. Wash it down with a bubbly pearl milk tea or classic winter melon tea for the perfect holiday lunch date with mates.

Christmas Market at Landmark

After you leave the restaurant, take an eight-minute walk towards luxury shopping mall Landmark for their festive pop-up Christmas market. Before you leave, head to the ground floor level of Landmark Atrium, where a festive display full of heartwarming holiday spirit, along with Santa Paws and Polar Paws, reels you in. Featuring a giant snowman and Christmas tree, the premise of the display is a Charity Christmas Market with booths selling festive merchandise, from which all proceeds are donated to three local non-profit organisations (Youth Outreach, Make-A-Wish Hong Kong, and Principal Chan Free Tutorial World), offering you and your friends a chance to get into the spirit of giving.
