Itinerary for partyers in Hong Kong

Itinerary for Partyers in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is famous for its vibrant nightlife and party scene — especially within Lan Kwai Fong — but there is so much more than just pub crawls and nightclubs. We’ve put together an ultimate three-day itinerary for the party-lover so you can experience popular clubs and bar destinations as well as lesser-known daytime and after-hours activities. Day drinking, here we come!

Day 1

Afternoon

Young Master Ales

If you’ve ever wanted to get behind the scenes and find out how your favourite pint is made, you’re in luck: many local craft breweries are open to the public for tours and tastings. Some of Hong Kong’s most beloved brews are crafted at Hong Kong Beer Co.’s Chai Wan brewery, such as Dragon’s Back, a medium-bodied pale ale, named after a popular hiking trail. On the other side of the island, Young Master Ales’ beautiful Ap Lei Chau brewery, with its rustic tasting room boasting harbour views, is a great venue for pre-drinks too.

Evening

Three Blind Mice

Make sure you’re well fed before a long night out. The pregame doesn’t have to stop, however, as you head to one of many free-flow dinner options in town. Three Blind Mice in Wan Chai does a generous dinner and drinks deal with 9 sharing plates and 3.5 hours of free-flow beers, wines, and spirits. The warm and friendly staff will make sure you and your friends are sated with plenty of food and drinks before sending you on your merry way.

Till late

PLAY

After dinner, make your way to Lan Kwai Fong and dip your toes into the city’s clubbing culture at popular clubs like PLAY, Dragon-i, and Ignis — don’t forget to dress to impress! If top 40 hits aren’t your thing, make your way to underground clubs like Oma, Drop, and Social Room, all of which regularly feature local and foreign house and techno DJs.

Tsui Wah

Now that you’ve fully exhausted yourself dancing the night away, head to one of these late-night dining institutions to recharge your tired bodies. Sun Hing Restaurant in Kennedy Town opens at 3am daily and serves great dim sum in an authentic environment. If you just want a quick bite before the cab ride home, the iconic 24-hour eatery, Tsui Wah, is always a trusty option with ample seating and a massive menu of local breakfast foods to help soak up some of the drinks.

Day 2

Afternoon

La Vache

After the long night you’ve had, obviously, there’s no need to get up at the crack of dawn. Instead, have a lie-in and make your way to La Vache in Central for its disco brunch with unlimited steak frites, a bottomless supply of bubbly, and a house DJ spinning the biggest disco tunes to go with it. Do keep in mind that this brunch only happens on the first Sunday of every month, and you’ll need to snap up a table in advance! You can also cross the harbour to Kowloon and settle down at Hutong in Tsim Sha Tsui for a Northern Chinese free-flow brunch that includes 18 mouth-watering dishes served to your table, and of course, some hair of the dog to keep the hangover at bay.

Evening

HK Brewcraft

For something a little more unique, how about getting hands-on while you imbibe? HK Brewcraft in Central offers homebrewing classes and an unconventional mead-making course, after which you can take your own creations home — or just down it if you’re feeling thirsty. For a slightly classier affair, The Pawn in Wan Chai also hosts a variety of interactive cocktail-making classes on their gorgeous alfresco rooftop, so you can make and sip your own drinks while watching the world go by.

Till late

The Globe and 65 Peel

No luck with fixing your own drinks? Don’t worry, you can kick back and let Hong Kong’s finest bartenders whip up your cocktails instead. SoHo is LKF’s more laid-back cousin just up the hill, where you’ll find famous craft beer pubs like The Globe and 65 Peel. Go on a treasure hunt to find one of Hong Kong’s many intimate speakeasies like the award-winning The Old Man or Stockton, and if you’ve got energy, get those bodies moving and join the live jazz nights at Salon 10 or learn how to salsa at Picada.

Day three

Afternoon

Sense of Touch Central

It’s time to really pamper yourself after two hard days of partying — but that doesn’t mean you have to stay away from the drinks! Head to Sense of Touch Central, a luxurious spa that offers three signature treatments featuring wine, sake, and beer. Each treatment features a relaxing bath filled up with the respective drinks, a body scrub made from grapes, rice, or barley, and a stress-relieving massage that’ll soothe your tired muscles worn out from partying.

Evening

Aqua Luna

A trip to Hong Kong cannot be without a night cruise along Victoria Harbour. Hop aboard the Aqua Luna where you can take in the beautiful harbour view while enjoying a luxurious evening on one of the last Chinese red-sailed boats, complete with lounge beds and champagne, of course. Don’t forget to set your alarm clock to 8pm so that you don’t miss the famous “A Symphony of Lights” show.

Wildfire

Take things easy on your last night by going for dinner and shisha at Knutsford Terrace, a (relatively) quiet enclave of restaurants and shisha bars in Tsim Sha Tsui. For something to spice up your night, Caliente has plenty of Mexican food offerings — nachos, tacos, enchiladas, and even a flaming Mexican fried ice cream! To wash it all down, a glass or three of the restaurant's famous giant frozen margarita is a must. If shisha is the name of the game, Merhaba by Pasha Turkish Restaurant is a long-standing landmark at Knutsford Terrace. Serving a large menu of different shisha flavours and authentic Turkish cuisine, you can end your night on a relaxing note here at this cosy joint.
